On behalf of the Young Lawyers Sections (YLS) of the Alabama State Bar and its Executive Committee, I welcome you to the Alabama State Bar and I congratulate you on becoming a member of the Alabama State Bar.
Please consider, as you begin your practice of law, to become active in the YLS and familiarize yourself with the various opportunities that the section offers. The YLS website is located at

By clicking on the "Get
Involved" tab, you can view a listing and description of the various sub-committees of the YLS. If you would like to get involved in one of the YLS sub-committees, complete the online form and someone from the YLS will contact you.
Please keep in mind that each May the YLS sponsors its Sandestin
CLE, which features many excellent speakers and networking opportunities at the Sandestin Resort. The
Iron Bowl CLE is held on the Friday before the Auburn vs. Alabama football game in Birmingham, Alabama and allows for an outstanding CLE opportunity as well.
Volunteering in one of the various sub-committees or participating in the events offered by the YLS provide an excellent way to serve your community and network with other members of the bar.
I have gained much from my involvement in the YLS and the opportunities that the section has provided me.
I would certainly encourage your participation in the YLS. I look forward to working with you this year and if you have any questions or would like to volunteer this year, please feel free to contact me.
